Is Good Enough?
Program length: 3:20

Is "Good" Enough? is an enlighting opener for any team meeting or quality initiative.

The concept of "good enough" is at the heart of all mediocrity. It can be a creeping influence in the workplace as well. Software programs are released with known defects, food products are shipped with "acceptable" amounts of GMOs, toys are manufactured with an eye on profit over safety.

Combining dynamic graphics, captivating music, and striking images, this motivational 3-minute meeting opener explores what would happen if 99.9% were the acceptable standard of excellence. At times entertaining, at times tragic, this thought provoking meeting opener challenges viewers to re-think their standards of quality, safety and excellence.

99.9% is sometimes considered as close to perfect as possible. But if that were the case, and if 99.9% is really "good enough" then...

  • In the next 2 minutes…1,902 people will consume a meal that leads to a foodborne illness.
  • In the next hour…1,000 ATMs will dispense the wrong amount of cash.
  • In the next 24 hours…583,561 pieces of mail will be mishandled by the post office.
  • In the next week…44,230 medical prescriptions will be written incorrectly.

I am not sure of the cost; however, I thought this program was very interesting. I like the facts that go from silly to serious. I found myself laughing and then having "ah ha" moments. I believe that this video would be wonderful for a quality course. I like the fact that it is short and sweet. I didn't care for the music, it was a bit boring and the voice over was a little monotone for me, however, I don't think that matters due to the strength of the information. Great Idea!! Thanks.

Very thought provoking... it'd be even better if we can get it so that it is a global version and not US-specific (especially since most of the quotes are from Europeans).
    Pati DeBrabander - Administrative Assistant
The message is very powerful, yet the presentation was depressing with sad music. Needs a little more shock value to reiterate the power of perfection. Great tool for team building and goals!
    Nancy Barnes - Manager
This would be a great introduction to a LEAN and Six Sigma educational session to help the viewer learn why it is important to go beyond 99.9%

The price is high for a small business like ours, but inaccuracy / inefficiency is a much higher cost. So I wil probably have to bear it - but was motivated to find a pirate copy - which were nasty knock offs. So will have to bear it and invest. Anything that we can do to improve it is probably well spent. Some of the statistics are not quantified so are they just in north America or the world? Good blend of humour and seriousness.
