Media Partners Wins Award in Accolade Global Film Competition

BELLEVUE, Wash, April 11, 2017 – Media Partners, a leading producer of premier people skills training films and learning content, has won two prestigious Awards of Excellence from The Accolade Global Film Competition. The awards were given to Media Partners’ employee training film “How Was Your Day?” Getting Real About Bias, Inclusion, Harassment and Bullying in the categories of Educational/Instructional/Training and Industrial/Technical/Business. The video emphasizes how to build a respectful workplace – an especially relevant topic today for businesses and government agencies.

Accolade Excellence Logo“Winning The Accolade’s Awards of Excellence in two categories recognizes Media Partners’ leadership in producing the highest quality training films,” said John Hansen, CEO of Media Partners. “These awards validate the hard work we devote to the script, casting, production and editing so that our films are powerful enough to help change workplace behavior. We are particularly proud of how we tackled the tough workplace challenges of bias, bullying, diversity and harassment through great stories.”

The Accolade recognizes film, television, videography and new media professionals who demonstrate exceptional achievement in craft and creativity, and those who produce standout entertainment or contribute to profound social change. Entries are judged by highly-qualified professionals in the film and television industry. Information about the Accolade and a list of recent winners can be found at www.accoladecompetition.org.

In winning an Accolade, Media Partners joins the ranks of other high-profile winners of this internationally respected award including the Oscar-winning production of The Lady in Number Six by Malcolm Clarke, the very talented Dave Bossert of Disney for his short documentary, The Tunes Behind The Toons, Hollywood industry veteran Ron Howard for When You Find Me, and Highwire Films Australia for their popular ABC TV series twentysomething. Rick Prickett, who chairs The Accolade Global Film Competition, had this to say about the latest winners, “The Accolade is not an easy award to win. Entries are received from around the world from powerhouse companies to remarkable new talent. The Accolade helps set the standard for craft and creativity. The judges were pleased with the exceptional high quality of entries. The goal of The Accolade is to help winners achieve the recognition they deserve.”

About the Film

“How was your day?” is a standard question posed at the end of the work day.  Rather than a stock employee response, Media Partner’s “How Was Your Day?” film uses relatable scenarios to inspire employees to openly discuss and recognize their workplace responsibilities in four often-avoided and difficult areas:

  • Overcoming unconscious bias
  • Embracing diversity and inclusion
  • Preventing harassment
  • Standing up to bullying

The 26-minute film’s substantial content is offered as four separate modules, essentially providing four films for the price of one.  Leaders can cover all four topics in one session or train on one or two at a time.  This structure offers built-in training flexibility designed for the learning style of today’s workforce.  The film is enriched with a comprehensive Leaders Guide, Leader Presentation, and Employee Handbook – all written by certified instructional designers and storytellers.  For more information, you may view a short trailer or access the full free-length preview
