Supported Scaffolding Safety in Industrial & Construction Environments
Program length: 22:00

Whenever a worker leaves the ground, the risk of an accident occurring increases dramatically. With more than 10,000 scaffold related injuries, and more than 50 fatalities reported each year, OSHA has mandated that workers be trained on how to safely erect and use these work platforms. This training will help employers meet the training requirements of OSHAs Scaffolding regulation.

Supported Scaffolding Safety in Industrial & Construction Environments helps employees understand the dangers of working with scaffolds, and shows how these risks can be minimized by knowing the correct ways to erect, maintain and use scaffolding equipment.

Discussed in the video and training are supported scaffolds, how they should be constructed, the hazards that are associated with them, the OSHA regulations that address these hazards and the equipment and procedures that employees should use to work with them safely.

Topics covered include:

  • Responsibilities of a "scaffold expert".
  • Creating a level and stable foundation.
  • Platforms and planking.
  • The danger of power lines.
  • Ramps and walkways.
  • Platform hazards.
